About the role

Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Engineering Technician – Special Projects will perform complex engineering tests, development engineering activities, and special project assignments while supporting design, fabrication, troubleshooting, equipment improvements, and the development of custom solutions for operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design 3D models based on project requirements and utilize 3D printers and plotters to support special projects and operational needs.
  • Build, modify, and assemble custom workbenches, fixtures, racks, and other production support equipment.
  • Review project instructions, specifications, and blueprints to determine testing requirements, technical issues, and potential solutions.
  • Perform engineering tests, analyze results, collect data, and implement changes to support development, quality, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues, equipment failures, and technical problems while assisting with corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Set up and conduct testing of units and components to support development, standardization, quality control, and problem resolution.
  • Assist engineers with the design and development of hardware and software required to meet customer and operational requirements.
  • Maintain documentation, software, equipment revisions, and train technicians and operators on products, processes, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, military training, equivalent vocational training, or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience designing 3D models and utilizing 3D printing technology to support engineering or manufacturing projects.
  • Experience troubleshooting PCs, printers, equipment, and operational issues in a manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Experience fabricating, assembling, or modifying fixtures, workbenches, racks, and other custom solutions to support production operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to analyze engineering test results, collect data, identify problems, and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience organizing and maintaining technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, procedures, and test records.
  • Ability to work independently on special projects while collaborating with engineers, technicians, operators, customers, and third-party partners.

Schedule

1st shift, 6:00 am – 3:00 pm
