Engineering Technician III Shift Openings

Swing Shift: (Mon.-Fri., 3:00 PM-11:30 PM) - $1.00 shift differential will be added to your regular hourly rate for working swing shift.
Graveyard Shift: (Mon.-Fri., 11:00 PM-7:30 AM) - $3.00 shift differential will be added to your regular hourly rate for working graveyard shift.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports Engineering; builds automated equipment in accordance with design specifications.
  • Supports Engineering; performs validation of equipment to support internal and external customer.
  • Supports Production; ensures seamless operation of complex equipment within validated state and production targets.
  • Acts as subject matter expert for operation and adjustment of production equipment.
  • Recommends and implement process improvements and corrective actions to include design changes, automation, and equipment improvements.
  • Provides technical support for the continual improvement of operation and products, with emphasis on improving competitive advantage and determining appropriate applications of the latest technology that supports that strategic plan.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs and fabricates production equipment; welding, cutting, assembly.
  • Creates clear and concise standard work instructions appropriate for the end user.
  • Analyzes and evaluates manufacturing methods and provides solutions for problems that adversely affect costs, operator safety, productivity, and quality.
  • Provides support for other departments as needed.
  • Recommends and tests various machinery and equipment for improved manufacturing methods.
  • Documents custom equipment and modifications.
  • Ensures installation and qualification of standard and custom equipment.
  • Implements permanent corrective actions and updates associated processes accordingly.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a technician in a highly-regulated manufacturing environmentISO9001 or ISO 13485 preferred.
  • Automated and semi-automated assembly processes a must.
  • Experience with tightly controlled and defined process steps necessary.
  • The position is responsible for the maintenance, setup and adjustment of:
    • Electrical and electronic systems
    • Highly mechanical assembly systems and aides
    • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
    • PLC and CNC controlled equipment
    • Decoration systems utilizing inks and other media
  • Must have strong skill in utilizing any number of handheld tools, including, but not limited to:
    • Wrenches/Sockets
    • Screw Drivers/Allen Wrenches
    • Multimeters/Ammeters
    • Wire strippers
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with above equipment and tools. Examples include, but are not limited to:
    • PLC troubleshooting
    • Relay logic
    • Mechanical system analysis
  • Ability to exercise strong judgment in analyzing, evaluating and solving problems.
  • Must be able to interact and effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, customers and all vendors.
  • Must have strong computer skills to include the knowledge of a variety of computer software applications to include MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, IQMS, Acrobat, CAD, etc.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience within the medical device industry.
  • Previous experience with lean manufacturing concepts.

ADA Requirements

  • Bend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move about frequently and for extended periods of time.
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. frequently, or more occasionally.
  • Walk, stand or otherwise move about continuously.
  • Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection.
