Engineering Technician I

About the role

Terracon is seeking a Construction Materials Lab Technician to join our team. This position evaluates soil, concrete, and other construction materials to ensure they meet specific design standards. The successful candidate will work independently or as part of a team, conducting tests and recording data.

Responsibilities

• Track samples and test dates
• Record quality assurance data
• Observe and conduct tests on soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel
• Understand project requirements
• Conduct testing and observations in a soils lab setting
• Tabulate and submit daily testing results and observations in an electronic report
• Communicate routinely with Lab Supervisor, PMs, and contractors
• Maintain quality standards on all projects
• Report any safety issues or concerns to management
• Assist higher level Team Members on complex tasks

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record
• Experience with laptop computer use and Microsoft Word and Excel
• Successful completion of related internal safety certifications
• Obtain ACI certification within 90 days of hire
