Engineering Technician (Field/Lab)

About the role

R&M is seeking an entry-level Engineering Technician to support the expansion of our materials testing team. The Engineering Technician will perform materials testing in our Anchorage lab and on-site at various projects in Anchorage and Wasilla.

Responsibilities

• Perform field sampling and testing on projects for soil density analysis.
• Test properties of fresh concrete during placement.
• Sample and test hot mix asphalt paving operations.
• Sample aggregates during concrete and asphalt production at batch plants.
• Conduct particle size analysis on sampled aggregates.
• Communicate with clients to evaluate schedules and collaborate with materials team leaders.
• Deliver daily test results via email at the end of each shift.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Applicable WAQTC, ACI, and/or NICET materials testing certifications
• Good interpersonal skills for teamwork
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
