About the role
R&M is seeking an entry-level Engineering Technician to support the expansion of our materials testing team. The Engineering Technician will perform materials testing in our Anchorage lab and on-site at various projects in Anchorage and Wasilla.
Responsibilities
- Perform field sampling and testing on projects for soil density analysis.
- Test properties of fresh concrete during placement.
- Sample and test hot mix asphalt paving operations.
- Sample aggregates during concrete and asphalt production at batch plants.
- Conduct particle size analysis on sampled aggregates.
- Communicate with clients to evaluate schedules and collaborate with materials team leaders.
- Deliver daily test results via email at the end of each shift.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Basic Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Applicable WAQTC, ACI, and/or NICET materials testing certifications
- Good interpersonal skills for teamwork
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
