About the role

The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team of electrical & mechanical engineers and technicians to support the electrical and mechanical maintenance, calibration, configuration, and testing of an advanced Naval Test Facility.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, setup, breakdown, and repair of mechanical and electrical test equipment and facility infrastructure including fluid and material handling, industrial equipment, data acquisition, signal processing and complex test and automation systems.
  • Install and test electrical circuits, sensors, and measurement systems.
  • Assemble, install, and repair mechanical equipment using a variety of tooling.
  • Set up and reconfigure complex testing equipment and systems.
  • Work in a team environment while completing tasks in an unsupervised and self-directed fashion.
  • Communicate effectively in an organized and professional manner both verbally and through E-Mail.
  • Work in an industrial testing environment and lift 50lbs.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and understand electrical/system schematics and assembly drawings.
  • Experience troubleshooting AC and DC voltages, relays, and sensors.
  • Installation and testing of electrical circuits, sensors, and measurement systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing, calibration and measurement equipment.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
  • Must be able to work in a customer-facing environment.
  • Must be able to work in an industrial testing environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or completion of a certificate program in a technical or engineering discipline and minimum 3 years of experience with mechanical and electrical assembly, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, or testing operations; years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Current possession of a SECRET level clearance, a plus. TS clearance level ideal.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical/system schematics and assembly drawings.

  • Familiarity with electrical testing, calibration and measurement equipment.

Skills

  • Experience in the field of acoustics.
  • Crane operation or certification.
  • Experience using MATLAB.
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Acceptance for Cables and Wire Harness Assemblies.
  • J-STD-001 Solder Certification.
  • Prior training and experience with OSHA, HAZMAT, PPE, and other industrial matters.
  • Familiarity with fluids, pneumatics, pumps, valves, and mechanical systems.
  • Performing sensor calibrations using signal generators, or other calibration sources.
  • Ability to understand basic circuits with relays, diodes, and resistors, and tracing signal paths through schematics.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems, such as PXI and cRio.
  • Experience with maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial or electrical equipment.
