About the role
An individual in this role would be expected to manufacture a limited number of products in accordance with supplied Standard Operating Procedures, adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, in a clean, controlled environment. This includes understanding a wide range of product manufacture, training new hires, and being proficient in the maintenance of key equipment. The role also involves leadership tasks such as scheduling, cycle counts, and requisitions, as well as supporting Coating Services, including resolution of quality issues and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Manufacturing (70%)
- Manufacture & test product per SOP as directed by the engineer or production planner
- Prepare and submit samples to the appropriate QC department
- Ensure adherence to GMP guidelines for MD Coatings / Commercial Development manufacturing
- Train on all processes and procedures in assigned area and be prepared to train other production personnel
- Communication (10%)
- Provide prompt and professional updates
- Provide project updates to supervisors and engineers
- Maintain complete, organized, and up-to-date records
- Verbally report results and experimental issues to colleagues and supervisor
- Efficient & Organized Environment (10%)
- Monitor inventory of general laboratory supplies
- Maintain laboratory equipment and document daily/weekly maintenance activities
- Oversee the routine housekeeping of the production area, cleaning process equipment, etc.
- Keep equipment on a preventative maintenance schedule
- Perform monthly and annual preventive maintenance as requested
- Continuous Improvement (10%)
- Edit standard operating procedures (SOPs) for repetitive manufacturing activities
- Support the resolution of deviations, investigations, non-conformances, and other Quality issues
Qualifications
- Associate degree in a laboratory technology field (i.e. Chemistry, Biology) or 5+ years of production experience as an Operator/Technician (or equivalent)
- Organizational and documentation skills
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to take work direction
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills appropriate for work responsibilities

Pay
Targeted salary range: $55,600—$77,900 USD
