Engineering Team Lead

About the role

Grain & Protein Technologies (GPT) is seeking an Engineering Team Lead for Structures and Specialty Products in Omaha, NE. Reporting to the engineering manager, this position oversees a team of design engineers, manages projects, and fosters a culture of excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of design engineers
• Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members
• Manage tasks, priorities, & resource plans
• Communicate effectively with team members and management
• Clearly define expectations & provide critical support
• Verify product requirements, cost targets, and priorities
• Manage project timelines & drive accountability to deadlines
• Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders including product management, manufacturing, quality, sales, customers, suppliers, etc.
• Analyze and identify risks
• Foster inter-departmental support of manufacturing, quality, & tech support teams
• Ensure accuracy of engineering output to facilitate all downstream functions
• Drive continuous improvement of systems & tools including automation of repetitive tasks
• Ensure adherence to standards and guidelines for design, modeling, drawings, processes

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role
• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering or related field, or equivalent technical experience
• High degree of intellectual curiosity, and willingness to challenge status quo
• Possess a passion for delivering solutions to enable customer success
• Ability to think and react quickly to new information & make key decisions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to work in a deadline oriented, fast-paced, and flexible environment

Benefits

• Expected annual salary range: $90,000 - $125,000 plus a bonus target

Pay

$90,000 - $125,000 annually

Schedule

Hybrid role with four days per week (Monday - Thursday) in office (Fridays are flexible for in office or remote). Occasional travel may be required, up to 20%.
