About the role

The Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC), managed and operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, is a premier advanced manufacturing facility supporting the safety, security, reliability, and effectiveness of the U.S. nuclear deterrent. The position is located at 14520 Botts Road, Kansas City, MO, 64147.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares draft updates and/or maintenance to existing MES factory instructions.
  • Draft new MES routings with minimal assistance from Process Engineers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to work instructions.
  • Reviews design definitions for consistency and administrative accuracy.
  • Suggests improvements for function, manufacturability, and cost.
  • Facilitates reviews by process and quality engineering.
  • Performs procurement and provides schedule updates.
  • Performs capital equipment inventory and need assessment required by accounting and others, and provides suggestions for improved equipment utilization.
  • Affords assistance to project managers/cost accounting managers with paperwork and reports, suggesting cost management, risk assessments, and tracking against cost and schedule requirements.
  • Reviews, suggests improvement opportunities for, and updates departmental JHAs.
  • Adds, revises, and works with the Addendum Index as necessary or directed.
  • Works with Configuration Management to ensure drawing and specification change information is documented appropriately into factory instructions.
  • Mentors Engineer Support Specialist I position.
  • Affords assistance in establishing and performing production readiness reviews.
  • Maintains and generates project files in the format and manner as required, including IFMS, project tracking, quad charts.
  • Generates and maintains project plans and assists in monitoring baseline changes.
  • Maintains and assesses quality documents and metrics including Addendum Index (NX), DPMO, BOM, Non-Conformance Reports (NCR), Corrective Action Requests (CAR), Purchased Product Definition (PPD), Purchased Order Quality Requirements (POQR), Laboratory Test Requests (LTR).
  • Affords assistance to Engineers with other work as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) or more years of relevant experience is required OR in lieu of degree, at least four (4) years previous experience in general business operations, manufacturing, or engineering related administrative activities such as configuration management, financial reporting, product testing procedures, and data entry.
  • Ability to travel as determined by the needs of the business.
  • Ability to work remotely, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations).

Qualifications

  • Two or more years' experience in interpreting design definitions and translating into manufacturing processes.

Skills

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision or engineering oversight on a moderate level of engineering support tasks.
  • Intermediate decision-making, organization, and problem-solving skills.
