As part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we’re constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and Time Tracking: Building shifts, handling shift-swapping, managing employee time cards and monitoring hours to manage labor costs.
  • Task Delegation: Assigning specific daily duties, CMM room planning and ensuring workers have the tools they require.
  • Performance and Coaching: Providing ongoing, actionable feedback to improve speed, accuracy, and customer service.
  • Responsible for leading QOS initiatives within the production department.
  • Review with production team leaders and Process Coaches quality issues and be the point of contact with other departments such as Machining, Quality and MP&L.
  • Care for quality documentation on FTT, 8Ds, Scrap, Dock Holds, Dock Audit, etc.
  • Participate in Quality and Contamination audits.
  • Prepare standard reports for Quality reviews within the plant and with other areas.
  • Review rejected parts for quality integrity and decide next steps.
  • Lead cross functional team initiatives in quality to achieve no faults forward / zero defects.
  • Lead 8D resolution of Warranty and VO concerns working together with Quality, MP&L, Machining and VO.
  • Coordinate Green and Black Belt projects within the department.
  • Work with QLSCM, Quality Works, OBL, CDCII and other required systems.
  • Document and control error proofing checks, internal checks, and additional containments.
  • Participate in interplant benchmarking exercises.
  • Actively participate in Simultaneous Engineering meetings, Forward Planning and Product Design to ensure MTC process is followed.
  • Apply engineering principles & analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products.
  • Implement interim and permanent corrective actions to resolve quality issues using 8D tool, 6 panel, etc.
  • Manage and direct statistical process control activities.
  • Knowledge of and ability to execute measurement systems analysis & variable data analysis.
  • Establish and monitor quality target levels for each build.
  • Provide input for design and assembly concepts which will yield nominal variations.
  • Determine inspection equipment and facility requirements.
  • Support expedited concern resolution with cross functional teams including the Quality Department, Production and Suppliers.
  • Review internal/external suppliers for critical characteristics process compatibility.
  • Review incoming quality concerns to maintain quality with assigned area; must have experience with initiating containment, determining root cause and implementing corrective actions.
  • Complete PPAP’s and support new model launches.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Experience:
    • Experience in manufacturing engineering
    • Demonstrated experience in accomplishing tasks and objectives
    • Proven problem solving ability
    • Six Sigma Green Belt certified
    • Previous production supervision
    • CMM, ATOS Blue Light Scanning, Creaform Hand Scanner, Polyworks basic knowledge
    • Microsoft Office Knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Experience: Previous automotive and Quality Engineering experience
  • FMEA, PPAP, and DOE experience preferred
  • Six Sigma: DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodology experience preferred
  • Ergonomic analysis knowledge and experience preferred
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certified preferred

This position is a salary grade 6- 7 and ranges from $72,480-141,360.
