Engineering Project Manager (Power Generation)

About the role

We are looking for a Project Engineer to support capital projects across a fleet of power generation facilities. You will focus on managing a portfolio of emergent and small-to-medium capital projects while supporting larger base and major capital projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple concurrent capital projects from initiation through completion
• Partner with operations and reliability engineering teams to identify project needs and develop scopes and justifications
• Develop scopes of work, technical specifications, cost estimates, and project documentation
• Navigate internal capital request and approval processes for emergent work
• Coordinate bidding, vendor selection, and procurement of materials and equipment
• Oversee contractors in the field, ensuring safe execution and adherence to project specifications
• Attend daily planning (POD) meetings to agree on priorities and ongoing work
• Career development and training opportunities
• Maintain project tracking, budgets, and documentation using tools such as Excel, SharePoint, and project systems
• Use drawing/document systems (e.g., ProjectWise) to review existing equipment and project layouts

Qualifications

• You have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field)
• You have 2+ years of experience in engineering or project management, in a plant, manufacturing, or industrial environment
• You have experience working with contractors, vendors, and external partners
• You are comfortable developing scopes, managing budgets, and coordinating project execution
• You are proficient with Microsoft (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
• You have experience with capital projects, contractor management, or plant operations

Pay

The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $40-43/hr.
