About the role

Meet the Team: Splunk Global Security (SGS) is led by Splunk's Chief Information Security Officer and exists to defend Splunk, Cisco, and our customers. The Strategy, Planning, and Operations team helps SGS turn security priorities into executable programs, measurable outcomes, and repeatable operating practices. We work closely with security engineering, security operations, product security, GRC, identity and access management, infrastructure, product management, and customer trust teams across a global organization. This is a practical, high-context team that values technical clarity, calm execution, and strong partnership in work that directly improves customer trust and security resilience.

As a Security Technical Program Manager, you will lead technically complex cybersecurity programs across the CISO organization and with partners across Engineering, Product, IT, Compliance, Customer Trust, Legal, Procurement, and go-to-market teams when needed. You will drive programs spanning security engineering, product and platform security, cloud and infrastructure security, identity and access management, vulnerability remediation, secure software development, AI-enabled engineering or security workflows, compliance readiness, customer assurance, and security service delivery.

You will develop enough understanding of architectures, data flows, control design, telemetry, and engineering dependencies to identify gaps, unblock decisions, and connect technical work to risk reduction and customer impact. You will use metrics, dashboards, audit evidence, and stakeholder forums to surface material risks early and keep globally distributed teams accountable. You will help launch security capabilities with the right runbooks, support handoffs, customer assurance inputs, and awareness or GTM coordination so new capabilities land cleanly and can be operated at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technically complex cybersecurity programs across the CISO organization and cross-functional teams.
  • Drive programs in security engineering, product/platform security, cloud/infrastructure security, IAM, vulnerability remediation, secure SDLC, AI-enabled workflows, compliance, and customer assurance.
  • Analyze architectures, data flows, control design, and engineering dependencies to identify risks and unblock decisions.
  • Use metrics, dashboards, and audit evidence to surface risks and maintain accountability across global teams.
  • Launch security capabilities with runbooks, support handoffs, and GTM coordination for scalable operation.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in technical program management, security program management, security engineering operations, or a related technical delivery role.
  • 2+ years driving cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, enterprise software, compliance, audit readiness, or risk-reduction programs.
  • 2+ years working with security domains including secure SDLC, vulnerability management, security operations, IAM, cloud security, product/platform security, third-party risk, or frameworks such as NIST, ISO, PCI, SOC 2, or FedRAMP.
  • 1+ years working with architecture, data flows, control design, cloud/infrastructure dependencies, and solution tradeoffs to identify risks and communicate with engineering teams.
  • 2+ years driving cross-functional technical execution across product, engineering, security, compliance, and business stakeholders, including ownership of program metrics, dashboards, executive updates, and decision records.
  • 1+ years of experience using AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, documentation, reporting, or workflow automation, with awareness of risks like data leakage, prompt injection, and audibility.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting programs in a CISO organization, security operations center, product security team, GRC function, cloud security team, or enterprise technology organization.
  • Experience participating in architecture reviews, threat modeling, control implementation, detection engineering, incident readiness, large-scale remediation, or customer assurance efforts.
  • Experience managing security integrations with mergers and acquisitions.
  • Experience supporting security review, control implementation, or rollout of AI-enabled products, copilots, agents, or AI-assisted engineering workflows.
  • Familiarity with Splunk products such as Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Cloud Platform, Enterprise Security, SOAR, or Observability Cloud.
  • Cybersecurity, cloud, or program management certification such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, AWS, Azure, or GCP certification.
