Position Summary
The Engineering Operations Manager oversees projects across five product lines within the Diversified Business Unit (DBU), balancing business and engineering implications. They drive project progress, manage resources, and prepare reports for the DBU.
Job Function
- Independently and collaboratively with DBU product line managers, product management, and relevant departments, manage projects.
- Assign resources to projects to achieve objectives.
- Drive project progress to successful completion.
- Document project status and deliverables.
- Manage characterization and qualification test resources.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation.
- Close projects according to established procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering + 7-10 years of experience, or Master’s degree in electrical engineering + 5-7 years of experience.
- Understanding of project and product line financial metrics: ROI, GM, R&D Spend, and contribution margin.
- Proficiency in Project Management, ERP, and PLM tools (JIRA, SmartSheet, and/or Arena desirable).
- Strong research, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively at various levels, from project details to executive summaries.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver on-time results and take accountability.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Physical Demands
The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, stand, walk, sit, and use hands to operate a computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
