About the role

You will be at the forefront of robotics and AI, working with a team of experts to deliver cutting-edge solutions that improve customers’ operational efficiency and productivity. Telecommuting is an option as long as you are based in the Bedford, MA region and can conduct regular visits to the company offices there.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of technical Software Engineers, understanding each member’s strengths, weaknesses, and areas of focus.
  • Conduct regular meetings with key-component leads to assess their needs and provide support.
  • Manage team performance and lead sprints, ensuring clear communication, understanding of tasks, and deadlines.
  • Manage development platform availability and optimal usage, aligning with project needs and priorities.
  • Coordinate with adjacent service-providing teams to ensure program success.
  • Manage development and coordination of customer demonstrations.
  • Develop guidance and support for product manufacturing and commissioning.
  • Develop guidance and support for product deployments to the field.
  • Maintain a deep technical understanding of the software and hardware comprising the robotic solutions, contributing to troubleshooting, commissioning, and fielded product success.

Requirements

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, plus eight years of progressively more responsible work experience developing software in a commercial environment; or a master’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, plus six years of such experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Python or C++ in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) gained through at least four years of work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Version Control Systems (VCS) such as Git, or similar, gained through at least two years of work experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of system programming utilizing the Linux operating system gained through at least four years of work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability providing technical leadership within a software development team gained through at least three years of work experience in a software technical lead role.
  • Demonstrated ability developing software utilizing modern best practices such as sprint planning, unit testing, design and code reviews, reusable patterns, and appropriate documentation gained through at least four years of work experience within an Agile software environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of robotics, parallel and distributed processing, machine learning, or hardware control gained through at least three years of work experience.
  • At least 5% domestic travel per year.

Pay

$255,000 – $265,000 per year.
