Engineering Manager, Postgres

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Engineering Manager, Postgres to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space. This role will lead a team focused on the reliability, scalability, and performance of a core database platform. You will partner closely with Product, Design, and infrastructure teams to deliver impactful technical initiatives that improve developer experience and customer outcomes. The position combines hands-on technical leadership with people management, requiring strong judgment in system design, architecture, and execution. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Pay

Compensation: $135,000 – $160,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of database engineers in their professional development
• Drive execution on major product initiatives from ideation to launch
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and infrastructure teams on technical solutions
• Engage in discussions to guide system design and architectural decisions
• Promote a culture of ownership and continuous improvement in engineering processes
• Help the team tackle complex problems with incremental milestones
• Ensure understanding of developer experience and customer impact of features

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as an engineer with a track record of shipping impactful products and features
• 2+ years of people management experience and experience developing engineering talent
• Strong technical skills for engaging in system design and architecture discussions
• Product-oriented approach to translating user needs into engineering solutions
• Ability to deliver quickly while maintaining high quality standards
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across teams
• Strong accountability for team outcomes and system health
