About the role

As Engineering Manager for Cloud Infrastructure at Valon Technologies, Inc., you will lead a high-impact team of five engineers managing production systems handling 100M+ daily jobs. You'll drive technical strategy for scalability and reliability, scale the platform 10x over two years, and bridge the gap between complex infrastructure and rapid product innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a team of 5+ infrastructure engineers, overseeing technical strategy for compute, databases, storage, and networking across all production environments.
  • Architect and implement production-scale systems and batch processing control planes to support massive daily growth in background job execution and data volume.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product and operations to build high-leverage infrastructure that unlocks rapid product iteration while maintaining world-class reliability and security standards.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience with at least 1+ years in a dedicated technical leadership or engineering management role in a high-growth environment.
  • Deep expertise in cloud providers, containerization using Kubernetes and Docker, and distributed systems capable of handling high-volume background processing and complex data stores.
  • Strong systems thinker with a product mindset and a proven track record of mentoring engineers through a feedback-driven, high-performance culture focused on continuous development.

Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases like Redis, ClickHouse, and Vitess.
