Engineering Manager, Platform

For our client, a leader in the Real Estate & Construction space, we are seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team and lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation.

About the role

You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Real Estate & Construction environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Lead the hiring process to build a high-performing platform team
• Own and prioritize the platform team's roadmap to address high-impact business challenges
• Coach engineers through regular 1-on-1s and development opportunities
• Contribute to architecture decisions and participate in code writing to set standards
• Lead incident response efforts and drive reliability improvements post-incident
• Collaborate with product engineering on cross-team dependencies and support models
• Shape engineering culture, standards, and tool choices alongside the CTO

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an engineering manager in a startup or mid-sized company, leading platform or infrastructure teams
• Strong technical foundations for making contributions in a deeply technical area
• Proven track record of hiring, nurturing, and retaining top engineering talent
• Good judgment for delegating decisions while knowing when to intervene
• Experience prioritizing projects without a dedicated Product Manager partner
• History of leading on-call rotations and incident response for high-availability services
• Effective communication skills for working within a fully distributed, remote-first team

Pay

$130,000 – $160,000 annually
