Engineering Manager, Observability Infrastructure
The Role
The Engineering Manager will lead the development of AI-powered observability platforms that enhance CI/CD, testing, and DevOps workflows.
Responsibilities
- Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the next generation of observability infrastructure at Roblox.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers building AI-powered observability platforms and intelligent developer infrastructure.
- Foster a strong engineering culture centered on ownership, execution, innovation, collaboration, and customer impact.
- Drive initiatives that improve developer productivity, operational excellence, and platform reliability at scale.
- Help shape the future of AI-driven developer tooling, CI/CD, testing, and DevOps experiences across Roblox.
Requirements
- 3+ years of engineering management experience with a proven track record of hiring, mentoring, and growing high-performing teams.
- Strong experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems and data infrastructure.
- Experience with observability platforms or AI/ML-powered infrastructure is a plus.
- Strong technical judgment and execution skills, with the ability to balance long-term platform investments with near-term business priorities.
- Passion for developer experience, platform engineering, and applying AI to improve engineering productivity and operational excellence.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills across engineering, product, and infrastructure teams.
Qualifications
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven success in managing and leading engineering teams.
- Experience with cloud platforms and distributed systems.
- Understanding of observability and AI/ML concepts.

Pay
The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.
Schedule
Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
