Engineering Manager, Mobile Developer Experience

About the Role

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Mobile Developer Experience team (also known internally as the Mobile Foundations team). In this role, you’ll set the technical vision and nurture the culture required to build world-class mobile applications. Your team will focus on one vertical—ZeroKit, enabling rapid mobile prototyping via agents—and two horizontal infrastructure pillars: the iOS and Android monorepos. You will partner with senior engineers and stakeholders to design systems that make our platform faster, more reliable, and more efficient. This role supports our growing international engineering footprint and unified technology stack across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo brands.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain foundational components to enable DoorDash Engineers to excel at mobile engineering.
• Lead the development and strategy for ZeroKit to enable rapid mobile prototyping via agents.
• Manage and optimize key horizontal infrastructure pillars, specifically the iOS and Android monorepos.
• Champion data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement across the team.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to drive long-term architectural direction and influence company-wide strategy.
• Guide the team through ambiguity, leveraging industry best practices while knowing when to break the mold.
• Communicate with clarity, whether explaining trade-offs to execs or mapping technical strategy across teams.
• Drive alignment across teams and disciplines, leading high-impact cross-functional initiatives.
• Build, sustain, and grow a diverse team to address the growing needs of the organization.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on software development, with expert proficiency in either Android or iOS development.
• 3+ years leading engineering teams.
• Proven success leading cross-functional initiatives with measurable impact.
• Strong bias for action and pragmatic problem-solving.
• Intellectual curiosity to dive deep into details and know when it’s necessary.
• Deep understanding of building quality software and balancing it with delivering value to customers.

Pay

The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado, is $193,800—$285,000 USD. Base salary is localized according to work location. In addition to base salary, compensation includes opportunities for equity grants.
