Accountabilities
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of mobile engineers across iOS and Android, including hiring, performance management, career development, and team engagement.
- Own the technical direction of mobile applications by guiding architecture decisions, engineering standards, scalability improvements, and product quality initiatives.
- Partner with Product and Design teams to execute mobile roadmaps effectively while maintaining engineering excellence and delivery velocity.
- Collaborate with Backend, Platform, Security, and Data teams to deliver cohesive end-to-end experiences across platforms.
- Establish and improve mobile engineering best practices, including testing strategies, code reviews, release processes, monitoring, and incident response procedures.
- Represent mobile engineering in strategic planning discussions, translating business goals into clear technical priorities.
- Build a high-trust, collaborative team culture focused on feedback, continuous learning, and strong engineering performance.
- Drive adoption of AI-powered development tools and workflows to improve productivity, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance engineering efficiency.
- Review technical proposals, support complex engineering decisions, and provide guidance on architectural trade-offs.
- Ensure successful execution of mobile initiatives while maintaining reliability, performance, and user experience standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with significant hands-on experience developing native mobile applications using Swift, Kotlin, or both.
- 3+ years of engineering management experience leading mobile engineering teams in a product-focused environment.
- Experience managing the full lifecycle of consumer or B2B mobile products, including architecture, development, release, and continuous improvement.
- Prominent ability to operate at scale with products requiring high reliability, strong performance, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong technical credibility with the ability to evaluate architecture decisions, unblock teams, and contribute to technical discussions.
- Experience adopting AI-powered tools and workflows to improve engineering productivity, collaboration, and delivery processes.
- Demonstrated success hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with both iOS and Android platforms is preferred.
- Background in SaaS, productivity tools, or mobile-first products is a plus.
- Familiarity with mobile release operations, app store processes, staged rollouts, crash monitoring, and analytics instrumentation is advantageous.
- Experience leading teams through platform migrations, architectural changes, or major technical transformations is preferred.
- Exposure to React Native or cross-platform mobile technologies is a plus.
