About The Role

You will lead the Mobile AI engineering team, focusing on enhancing Notion’s core mobile AI features such as chat, capture, agent workflows, workspace Q&A, and lightweight creation flows. Your responsibilities include defining and evolving the roadmap for these features, ensuring they are both useful and reliable in real-time scenarios like idea capture, meeting catch-up, question answering, and task advancement.

The role requires a presence in either San Francisco or New York City, with office days being Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. We value collaboration and innovation, and we seek someone who is eager to contribute to shaping the future of AI-driven work environments.

What You'll Achieve

• Define and evolve the roadmap for Notion’s core mobile AI surfaces
• Take new mobile AI ideas from concept to product, leveraging prototypes, user feedback, and product data to guide future developments
• Improve the production quality of mobile AI by addressing instrumentation gaps, reliability risks, and performance bottlenecks
• Help the team establish robust technical foundations for seamless integration across mobile, web, and server platforms

• Engineering leadership: Experience managing teams and shipping high-quality products at scale
• Hands-on technical leadership: Ability to guide architecture, performance, reliability, and release-quality decisions
• AI product curiosity: Interest in AI tools and how they impact product development, engineering workflows, and user expectations
• Execution through ambiguity: Capability to transform open-ended product ideas into clear strategies, staffing plans, and delivery timelines
• Cross-functional leadership: Effective collaboration across different functions to define problems and deliver polished outcomes
• People leadership: Recruitment, coaching, and growth of engineers, fostering an inclusive team environment, and clear communication

Nice to Haves

• Led teams building AI product experiences involving streaming UX, tool use, voice or multimodal input, evaluation loops, or reliability guardrails
• Managed teams through 0→1 product development or rapid iteration on new product surfaces
• Experience with mobile platform concerns such as offline resilience, real-time collaboration, rich-text editing, app performance, or release quality at scale
• Led teams delivering end-to-end product experiences across mobile, web, and server boundaries
