About the role

As Engineering Manager, Integration and Test, you will lead and grow the team that integrates, tests, verifies, and qualifies spacecraft avionics products—including power electronics, power distribution hardware, command & data handling hardware, camera systems, and related avionics assemblies. You will ensure products transition successfully from development into production while meeting technical, cost, schedule, and quality objectives. This position reports to the Director of Engineering Integration and Test.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Integration & Test engineering team supporting spacecraft avionics products.
  • Plan and manage integration, verification, qualification, acceptance, and environmental test campaigns for avionics products.
  • Ensure verification activities satisfy system, customer, and mission requirements.
  • Develop scalable integration and test architectures supporting both engineering development units and flight production hardware.
  • Drive Design for Testability (DFT) principles into new product development.
  • Support anomaly investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate laboratory utilization, test equipment availability, and engineering staffing.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop Integration & Test engineers.

  • Experience performing in a technical or functional lead role.
  • Experience supporting environmental qualification testing, including shock, vibration, TVAC, and EMI/EMC.
  • Experience and training in safe handling protocols for flight hardware, including cleanroom and ESD standards.
  • An average of 10% travel may be required.
  • Ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Desired Skills

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating, testing, and qualifying spacecraft avionics and payload hardware (e.g. power electronics, camera systems, optical payloads).
  • Experience with embedded systems, FPGA and microprocessor-based hardware.
  • Experience specifying and using electrical ground support equipment (EGSE), special test equipment (STE), and data acquisition systems.
  • Hands-on experience with automated test equipment (ATE).
  • Experience specifying and developing hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) test systems.
  • Demonstrated innovative, analytical approach to troubleshooting, resolving complex test issues and anomalies, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Experience in a scripting language such as: LabVIEW, Python, Bash, or others.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management and product lifecycle management tools.
