Engineering Manager, Data Center Electrical Products and Services
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to innovation. This role involves solving complex problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain, collaborating with diverse teams of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers.
About the role
Within Infrastructure Services and Data Center Engineering, the Electrical Products and Services team develops resilient electrical distribution products and systems. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of electrical and mechanical engineers to design and develop electrical power distribution equipment such as Low Voltage Switchgear and Power Distribution Cabinets. This role requires hands-on involvement in detailed engineering, from concept through testing and production. You will drive strategic direction, build high-performing teams, and collaborate with partners to implement best practices globally. Approximately 20% travel is required, including domestic and occasional international trips to AWS offices, data centers, suppliers, and validation sites.
Open to hiring in Austin, Atlanta, Columbus, or Northern Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Make high-judgment trade-offs between competing priorities, balancing short-term team needs with long-term business objectives.
- Drive strategic direction for the team’s technical roadmap and influence partner teams across overlapping domains.
- Build and lead a high-performing engineering team by hiring talent aligned with Amazon Leadership Principles, managing performance, and creating growth plans.
- Identify and mitigate risks, unblock engineers and partner teams, and navigate escalations to ensure project success.
- Collaborate with partner teams to implement and improve processes regionally and globally.
- Provide clear technical strategy and communication across all organizational levels.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent engineering science.
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
- 10+ years developing electrical and mechanical products from concept to production.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- 12+ years developing electrical power distribution equipment.

Pay
Base salary range:
- Atlanta, GA: $150,200 – $203,300 USD annually
- Columbus, OH: $150,200 – $203,300 USD annually
- Austin, TX: $150,200 – $203,300 USD annually
- Herndon, VA: $150,200 – $203,300 USD annually
