Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Serve as an in-house expert in mechanical engineering as it relates to the organization’s products and services.
• Supervise a group of design engineers and drafting personnel and manage all workflow for the team.
• Mentor and develop the existing engineering team as you direct the department staff.
• Familiar with all pertinent codes and standards such as ASME Section 1, NFPA etc.
• Advise engineering solutions and recommendations to project managers and designers.
• Review/check Wood and vendor created drawings and calculations.
• Coverage of client relationships.
• Coordinate the flow of information and drawing preparation with 3rd party design companies.
• Client visits to present, inspect, or collect information, for proposal or contract work.
• Willingness to travel to jobsites in North America.
• Maintain and update current engineering standards as required.
• Review client technical specifications.
• Review vendor quotes versus project requirements.
• Proposal preparation and cost estimates.
• Review vendor requests for material substitutions and approve as appropriate.

Requirements

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, advanced degree preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize engineering principals in equipment design.
• Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, strong technical writing, and presentation abilities.
