ENGINEERING MANAGER
About the role
Provide oversight and guidance of staff to meet scheduled deadlines for projects, ensuring high quality and productivity through training, procedure development, meetings, and individual educational development. Actively coordinate activities between Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Technical Support, Finance, and Corporate Officers on engineering-related matters. Maintain sound engineering concepts and standards in product design and development, manage patent activities, and utilize feedback from Technical Support for product improvements to address customer complaints. Serve as chairman of the Safety Committee, coordinating and reviewing new products. Plan manpower requirements aligned with company goals and manage functional administration programs such as wage and salary administration and Employee Performance Appraisals. Stay updated on new engineering developments to ensure the highest quality and productivity.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and guidance to staff to meet project deadlines and maximize quality and productivity.
- Coordinate activities between Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Technical Support, Finance, and Corporate Officers.
- Maintain engineering standards in product design and development.
- Manage patent activities.
- Use feedback from Technical Support to improve products and eliminate deficiencies.
- Coordinate and review new products as chairman of the Safety Committee.
- Plan and determine manpower requirements consistent with company goals.
- Manage functional administration programs, including wage and salary administration and Employee Performance Appraisals.
- Stay abreast of new developments in engineering to maintain high quality and productivity.
Requirements
- College graduate with a degree in engineering; courses in Business Administration, Advanced Mathematics, or Electronic Data Processing are beneficial.
- Five or more years of broad engineering experience, including research and development, laboratory work, engineering services, and administrative or managerial positions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- General business experience and aptitude.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Travel required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team player.
