What you will work on
- Building features that support customer compliance with emerging regulatory mandates
- Optimizing patient compliance - the rate of successful data collection from our customers' patients
- Building benchmarking features that enable customers to identify their strengths and weaknesses in patient care
- Enabling effective patient data collection using configurable patient care pathways, HL7, and FHIR
- Contributing to a multi-tier data architecture that enables cross-referencing of patient outcomes with comorbidities, medical devices, and other related health factors
How we work
- We operate in 2-week sprints, within 6-month company planning cycles, and deploy weekly
- We use Google Suite, JIRA, Slack, Notion, Claude, Macbook Pros
- We use Ruby on Rails, Docker, AWS, Typescript, React, GraphQL, OpenSearch, Datadog
- We actively use AI throughout the entire software development lifecycle
Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a team of 4-6 engineers, facilitating their professional development
- Be a player-coach - active in coding contributions and technical support
- Own team agile rituals such as planning, ticketing, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
- Plan, lead, and support new production features and projects - partnering with Product Managers and designers to turn business requirements into sound technical solutions
- Proactively collaborate with key internal stakeholders to support production usage of our software by our enterprise customers
- Champion software performance, scalability, reliability, and observability
- Actively balance new development against technical debt and architectural improvements
- Actively lead in the adoption/usage of AI tooling and techniques throughout our software development practices
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software experience and 3+ years of Ruby-on-Rails experience
- 1+ years of experience managing engineers
- Comfortable using AI throughout the software development lifecycle
- Experience within the healthcare software industry
- Comfortable working in a startup environment where you must create clarity out of ambiguity
Nice to have
- Experience with React, Typescript, GraphQL
- Experience integrating with EHRs, HL7, FHIR, and/or SmartOnFHIR
- Experience with medical coding standards - CPT, ICD-10, SNOMED
- Experience working on large-scale data-driven products or features - leveraging aggregation, data cleaning, data transformation, data attribution, etc
