Engineering Manager

This position will work onsite 5 days per week in our Millington, MD facility.
Responsibilities
- Lead the site Engineering organization of Mechanical and Electrical teams to achieve and exceed Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
- Lead and prioritize engineering resources and initiatives in collaboration with other site functions to meet customer and business demands.
- Partner with multiple functions in the Engineered To Order (ETO) process ensuring engineering rigor, velocity, schedule, and flexibility are balanced to meet business results.
- Provide technical and strategic leadership aligned to long-term product architecture and business goals while balancing short-term business execution.
- Lead, coach, and mentor leadership within the building framework and power systems functions to achieve Quality, Delivery, and Efficiency targets across the Engineering organization.
- Develop and maintain a thorough training and on-boarding program for new hires aligned to defined engineering quality and product standards.
- Coordinate activities in support of offshore and contract engineering resources enabling scalable capacity and consistent quality standards.
- Lead and drive a continuous improvement mentality ensuring high-quality results that exceed customer expectations.
- Implement standard design practices while providing clear communication, work direction, coaching, and development support to build capability and accountability across the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related area preferred; Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Architectural, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of relevant technical experience; 10+ years preferred.
- 4+ years of technical team leadership experience.
- Experience in ETO engineering operations, process improvement, or technical program leadership.
- Solid understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes pertaining to control buildings, and engineering documentation practices.
- Sheet metal experience preferred.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
- Strong interpersonal and planning skills coupled with an agile mentality.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
- Proven track record to analyze complex data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.

Pay
nVent’s pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee’s work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Compensation Range: $105,000.00 - $195,000.00. Depending on the position offered, the employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
