Overview
Key West Historic Inns is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will lead a team in maintaining and improving the facilities of historic boutique hotels, ensuring they remain safe, well-maintained, and operating at the highest standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, or minimum of five (5) years of progressive engineering leadership experience in hospitality or a comparable commercial environment.
- Three (3) to four (4) years of hotel, institutional, commercial building, or HVAC systems experience preferred.
- Previous management or supervisory experience of three (3) to five (5) years required.
- Refrigeration, HVAC certification, EPA certification, journeyman-level experience, or other applicable trade certifications are highly preferred.
- Extensive working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, emergency, preventive maintenance systems, and all related building disciplines.
- Proven experience developing and managing preventive maintenance programs, vendor relationships, departmental budgets, and capital improvement projects.
- Strong leadership, organizational, project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Basic computer and administrative skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with guests, team members, vendors, and all levels of leadership.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, fire and life safety standards, environmental compliance, applicable building codes, and hospitality regulations.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
