Engineering Manager

About the role

The Engineering Manager will lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team while remaining deeply technical and hands-on. Key responsibilities include owning the technical direction, designing resilient system architectures, ensuring top-tier code quality, and partnering closely with Product to drive rapid feature delivery.

Responsibilities

• Run efficient sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and concise team alignment meetings.
• Unblock engineers, minimize distractions, and drive the execution and delivery of major product features and technical initiatives.
• Partner closely with the Product team to shape the roadmap, balance feature prioritization, and manage timelines.
• Design and review scalable system architectures, robust APIs, and complex data models.
• Balance lightning-fast shipping speed with long-term code maintainability, scalability, and security.

Requirements

• Hardcore Work Ethic: High-agency mindset with a proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
• Engineering Foundation: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Leadership Depth: 3+ years of experience managing, mentoring, and leading engineering teams.
• Execution Track Record: Proven experience shipping complex, high-quality software products at a rapid pace.
• Technical Stack: Strong experience with Python and React/Next.js is highly preferred.
• System Design: Deep experience building highly scalable APIs and managing end-to-end distributed systems.
• Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Fintech Advantage: Direct background or experience in fintech, accounting software, or ERP systems is a significant plus.
