About the role

The Engineering Manager reports directly to the President and is responsible for the engineering, planning, and coordination of procedures related to the Overhaul, Repair, and Inspection of articles received by the Repair Station. This role involves directing, planning, and detailing inspection standards, methods, and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable FAA regulations and manufacturer recommendations. The Engineering Manager will oversee activities in the Engineering department, ensuring efficient operations and cost-effective systems to meet the company's current and future needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering organizations to ensure process alignment and consistency to maximize overall team performance.
  • Establish and manage budgets related to personnel and projects aimed at achieving objectives.
  • Adapt to changing priorities driven by customer or market demands.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and supply chain teams.
  • Provide technical support for the Repair Station.
  • Manage the professional development and growth of the engineering team, including goal setting, performance management, and specialized training.
  • Coordinate with customers to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Evaluate figures, drawings, and step-by-step instructions to repair various aircraft components.
  • Evaluate technical data to substantiate repair instructions, including stress analysis, free body diagrams, flight safety, failure analysis, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Assess equivalencies for tooling and consumables to support repair activities.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the company to address evolving business needs.
  • Participate in or lead corrective action teams, continuous improvement projects, and capital projects as requested.

Skills

  • Ability to evaluate technical data, including stress analysis, free body diagrams, and failure analysis.
  • Experience in coordinating with customers, purchasing, and supply chain teams.
  • Proficiency in managing budgets and project objectives.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
