What We Are Looking For
Grammer is seeking an Engineering Manager to join their team in Shannon, MS. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment and be passionate about making positive changes within the Engineering Department.
What You Will Be Doing
- Take the lead in engineering activities to achieve optimal productivity and quality levels while adhering to customer specifications.
- Responsible for the overall development and administration of the Engineering Process.
- Coach and develop engineering team members.
- Establish and review process controls, emphasizing continuous improvement and waste reduction to enhance productivity.
- Ensure the achievement of product target costs, improved efficiency, and identification of potential production issues for existing products.
- Participate in plant leadership teams, contributing to process flows, labor, and machine standards.
- Review proposed changes to process, equipment, molds, and tooling to ensure reliability and compatibility with existing Grammer standards/systems.
- Support multiple projects and collaborate with the plant to maintain third-party registrations to ISO/IATF standards.
- Contribute to product launch strategies, evaluate and implement process/product improvements, assist with training, and develop workflow and effective layouts.
- Aid in quoting and contracting tool sources to build support tooling, and assist with training both technical and production staff on processing standards.
- Develop short- and long-term strategies to support customer requirements, authorize engineering change notices, process alerts, purchase orders, equipment spare parts inventory, and personnel training requests.
- Support plant safety rules, approve department expenses and appropriations, and participate in EAP services.
What You Will Bring Along
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in the Automotive industry preferred.
- APQP Process understanding (FMEA, Control Plan, etc.) preferred.
- Leverage Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience leading continuous improvement projects/Kaizens preferred.
- Demonstrate strong management skills.
- Proven problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, customer-focused individual who takes personal accountability and drives towards the achievement of the business unit's vision and objectives in alignment with the Company's Leadership Values.
- Ability to delegate responsibilities, objectively evaluate the performance of direct reports, and hold others accountable constructively.
- Show strong leadership and facilitation skills, maintaining composure under pressure.
