Engineering Manager

About the role

The Dealpath engineering team is dedicated to excellence, collaboration, impact, and execution. We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and coach a team of talented software engineers in an AI-forward environment. This role offers a hybrid schedule with three days in the office in San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and coach a team of talented software engineers, fostering growth, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Promote AI-forward engineering practices using AI tools consistently in your own work and coaching your team to do the same: prompting with context and constraints, reviewing AI-generated code critically, and knowing when to rely on AI versus reason independently.
• Drive execution of high-impact product initiatives in close partnership with Product, Design, and Quality teams.
• Recruit and onboard world-class engineering talent.
• Provide clarity in scope and timelines while ensuring delivery of high-quality, testable, and secure code.
• Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to evolve platform architecture and technical strategy.
• Promote a culture of inclusion, transparency, and accountability within the team and across the company.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or equivalent leadership role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience scaling teams in a startup or growth-stage environment.
• Track record of delivering enterprise SaaS products, ideally in B2B or FinTech/PropTech.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance technical depth and business impact.
• Consistent, hands-on experience with AI coding tools (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar).
• Uses AI regularly across engineering tasks, validates output before shipping, and can coach engineers to build the same disciplined habits.
