About the Role

The Engineering Manager will lead a team of project and manufacturing engineers, as well as maintenance employees, in identifying and completing projects and repairs that support our manufacturing site. The engineering team is also responsible for introducing new technology to the company for use in the plant.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a project engineering team to meet the needs of the plant and successfully execute needed projects.
• Lead and manage a team of project engineers to improve manufacturing operations, enhancing safety, reducing cost, and shortening lead time through capital and technology projects.
• Identify project opportunities, vet ideas, and lead/participate in projects from concept to implementation and commissioning. Projects include equipment replacement/upgrade, new applications of technologies, and process and equipment development.
• Own projects from start to finish, including:
  • Engineering: user requirements, engineering specifications, test documents, RFP/RFQ, purchase agreements, acceptance criteria.
  • Financial: budget development, creation of capital authorization request documents, and execution/tracking of project spending.
• Manage projects in a manufacturing environment, which may involve automation/robotic material movement, processing equipment, process control systems, and facility automation systems.
• Act as project manager and lead cross-functional teams on high-level projects critical to the business.
• Serve as a leader, influencer, and consultant for plant-level engineering groups in capital projects, engineering and maintenance organizational planning, and maintenance activities and methods.

Requirements

• 5-10 years of engineering experience in an industrial environment.
• 3+ years in an engineering management role.
• Completion of a variety of capital projects in an industrial setting.
• Demonstrated project management/leadership roles with complete project ownership.
• Experience managing internal maintenance staff and external contractors on a project basis.
• Previous experience complying with regulated environments (e.g., OSHA, EPA).

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering or a related discipline; advanced degree is a plus.
