About the role

The Engineering Manager will be accountable for all process engineering activities in support of manufacturing operations. Acts as the voice of the site's Process Engineering Group and manages the process engineering discipline. This role focuses on managerial concerns such as cost, completion date, and resource allocation for site improvement projects. They will provide resolution of issues and monitor integration of work between site departments, review technical concepts of major projects, detail equipment specifications, and collaborate with the Capital Projects Team. The role involves solving technical problems to improve plant performance metrics and yields.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the Process Engineering Team, focusing resources accordingly.
  • Manage and implement projects to improve OEE, line efficiency, and product costs.
  • Identify and assess the value and capability of new or additional technologies through innovation.
  • Manage local capital expenditure, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Oversee site cost-saving and Continuous Improvement initiatives, including tracking and ideation sessions.
  • Fully support and comply with company HSE and Quality Policies.
  • Define, automate, and simplify processes; identify key levers and process parameters.
  • Investigate and facilitate solutions to process, engineering, and technical problems.
  • Ensure retention and adherence to accredited standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
  • Ensure maintenance and production standards are observed and applied.
  • Develop technical capability within the team.
  • Comply with all Federal, State, Local, and Company rules and regulations on Health, Safety, and Environmental issues.
  • Maintain Alkegen's highest level of safety standards on site, including identifying and correcting unsafe conditions and acts.
  • Embody Alkegen's core safety principles, including The Seven Safety Absolutes, use of PPE, and Safe Standards of Work.
  • Champion safety in the workplace daily.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical discipline field.
  • Minimum of five years of industrial experience.
  • Formal TPM, Six Sigma, WCM, TPS, or Lean training related to world-class maintenance processes, with at least 5 years of experience in successful implementation and management of an engineering function.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from production and maintenance employees.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Pay

$120,000 - $150,000 annually. Pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
