Engineering Manager, AI Enablement
Overview
Grow Therapy is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the AI Enablement Tech Team, central to the company's AI strategy. The role involves owning the AI roadmap, building foundational infrastructure, and delivering complex AI use cases.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy and execution of Grow's company-wide AI roadmap, sequencing infrastructure investments and use cases against company-level impact in close partnership with the PM
- Build and operate core AI infrastructure: data pipelines, model access, embeddings, retrieval layers, and governance frameworks, with PHI compliance as a non-negotiable constraint
- Architect and maintain the connector layer (MCPs, integrations, and APIs) that enables agentic workflows across every business function
- Lead delivery of high-priority, complex AI use cases requiring close Product and Engineering collaboration (e.g. Grow LLM, AI-assisted care workflows)
- Drive AI vendor governance: procurement decisions, contracts, and a cross-company tool registry that prevents redundant spend and ungoverned tooling
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years leading engineering teams, including hands-on experience building AI/ML infrastructure, LLM-powered systems, or agentic workflows
- Strong technical depth in AI/ML infrastructure: you've built or operated pipelines, embedding systems, retrieval layers, or orchestration frameworks in production
- Excellent cross-functional leadership: you're equally effective in a technical design review and a working group with clinical, legal, or business stakeholders
- Founder's mindset: you bring structure to ambiguity, move fast, and build systems designed to scale beyond your direct involvement
- Strong communicator who can translate technical decisions into clear business impact for senior leadership and non-technical partners
Qualifications
- Full-time Employee Benefits
- Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance, plus life and disability coverage
- Parental Leave & Family Support: Up to 18 weeks paid leave and a new child stipend
- Financial Wellness: 401(k) program and equity opportunities
- Meals & Home Office Support: Stipends for home office setup and ongoing funds for meals, with tailored perks for both remote and in-office employees
- Time Off to Recharge: Flexible PTO, 12 paid holidays, and a full winter break week
- Wellness & Development: Annual stipends to put towards personal & professional growth
- Mental & Physical Health Support: No-cost access to therapy through the Grow platform, weekly flexible hours for self-care ("Mental Health Mornings/Afternoons") and memberships to leading wellness apps (such as One Medical, Headspace, and Talkspace)
- Pet insurance discounts, commuter benefits, and global travel assistance
