Engineering Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage projects, resources, and engineering communication during the design, development, and testing of components, hardware, and mechanical systems for custom cable connections to high density PCBAs.
• Oversee project timelines, ensuring that milestones and deliverables are met on schedule; communicating across internal business units and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including signal integrity engineering, product management, and manufacturing, to ensure cohesive product development.
• Develop and implement engineering development processes and best practices to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Manage resource allocation and budgeting for hardware development projects.
• Ability to take on full programs as a development engineer until a new team is onboarded; provide technical guidance and mentorship as needed, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
• Direct the growth plan for the team, including scaling resources to support business growth, taking an active part in the interview and recruitment process, and the onboarding/training of new hires.
• Conduct performance reviews and support the professional growth of team members.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, Master’s degree or MBA a plus
• Past experience / competency in computer aided engineering analysis a plus
• Experience in hardware development, including precision components and/or sheet metal. Electrical connectors and cable harnessing experience a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role within a mechanical development team, ideally within the hardware space.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with parametric CAD tools (Creo / SolidWorks).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
