A Day In The Life
The Engineering Lab Technician performs a variety of technical laboratory activities involving electronic and electromechanical equipment, including fabrication, assembly, modification, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. This role also documents, reports, and communicates test-related information using Microsoft Office tools.
What will help you thrive in this role?
- An associate degree or certificate in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
- Prior experience in supporting prototype fabrication, product assembly, and equipment integration activities.
- Hands-on experience fabricating and assembling electronic equipment, including surface-mount components, using engineering sketches, drawings, and instructions.
- Experience with environmental, functional, and product qualification testing.
- Ability to set up and perform environmental, functional, and product qualification tests by following prepared procedures, standard test methods, and engineering direction.
- Proficiency using engineering laboratory instruments, tools, and facilities to support testing and product development activities.
- Skilled at troubleshooting equipment issues, performing basic repairs, and assisting with maintaining laboratory equipment and facilities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and organized records of test activities in accordance with established procedures, and follow proper ESD practices within the laboratory work area.
Qualifications
