About the team

The intern position includes jobs related to developing, implementing, reviewing, evaluating and engineering changes of manufacturing processes and supporting operations to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency. The position will also involve any other responsibilities as described by management in order to improve and/or support operations.

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with all departments.
  • Perform activities in coordination with other ZFTG departments related to process improvement, evaluation, and documentation.
  • Develop, monitor, analyze, and improve KPIs for assigned projects.
  • Utilize basic quality tools along with six sigma and lean manufacturing techniques in the support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Assist with quality department procedure and work instruction development as needed.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to aid in organizational planning, reaching objectives, and reviewing activities, results, and policies.
  • Follow all company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support manufacturing’s goal of continuous improvement.

Your profile as Engineering Intern

  • Must currently be enrolled in college as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior.
  • Must have a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale.
  • Working towards a degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Excellent written and oral communication (to include presentations).
  • Fluent application of position-related software (Microsoft Office).
  • Strong task and time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Capable of making sound decisions in a timely manner, and self-starter who takes pride in their work product.
  • Interest in Automotive Manufacturing.
