About the role
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your skills by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities. The work model for the role is onsite/hybrid in Selmer, TN. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the office location and manage their own commuting arrangements. No relocation assistance or stipend will be offered for this position.
Responsibilities
- Assist in analyzing and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Support data collection and analysis for time studies, workflow optimization, and root cause investigations.
- Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
- Help develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process changes.
- Assist in designing tools, fixtures, or layouts using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Document findings and present recommendations to the engineering team.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.

Pay
The hourly rate is determined by the successful applicant’s qualifications, graduation year, and experience. This position is expected to pay between $20 - $34 per hour.
