About the role

As a Summer 2027 Engineering Intern with Elanco Animal Health, you will be part of the Engineering team at our Elwood, Kansas manufacturing plant. You will contribute to a hands-on technical project focused on improving processes, solving business challenges, and supporting operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the manufacturing environment and collaborate with stakeholders to solve problems.
  • Work within cross-functional teams to build vendor relationships and implement new process capabilities.
  • Create and use data visualization tools and update documentation.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering major (e.g., Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suites and a willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or professional experience in a life-science industry.
  • Interest in Engineering or Chemistry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work exceptionally well independently and with minimal supervision.

Additional Information

Travel: 10% to our corporate facility in Indianapolis, IN for opening/closing events.

Location: Elwood Manufacturing Plant, Elwood, KS.

  • Pay: Competitive salary of $20–$40/hour (dependent upon major and year in school).
