About the role

We are currently accepting applications for an Engineering Estimator position at our Renton location. The position offers a full-time salaried role with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, a 401k with employer match, and tuition reimbursement.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost summaries for all functional departments and apply appropriate overhead costs to direct costs.
  • Prepare cost flow data and respond to what-if type questions related to alternate bid solutions and strategies.
  • Prepare program budget and any required revisions to submit to the program management team upon contract award.
  • Conduct post job profitability reviews and prepare post-job program profitability reports.
  • Initiate job reviews with leadership.
  • Develop conceptual cost for new product development and work with the design team to develop product from minimum detailed information.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, and services.
  • Prepare itemized lists of material and labor requirements.
  • Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hours and related cost data or effect cost reductions.
  • Develop industrialization strategy.
  • Consult with clients, purchasing, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
  • Complete capital expenditure (CapEx) models for evaluating projects.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have analytical skills to compute and factor data to prepare estimates used for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors and/or contractors, and determining cost effectiveness. They should also have consultation skills to interact with clients, vendors, and other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues, and reasoning to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with 3-D CAD software (such as CATIA, Inventor) to develop material usage and labor requirements from digitally designed products.
  • A degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Skills

Preferred skills include strong analytical and consulting abilities, as well as the ability to develop and establish standard hours and related cost data or effect cost reductions.

Pay

The annual salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $120,000, based on experience and qualifications.
