About the role

The Engineering Director, Firmware will lead the development and delivery of high-quality firmware solutions for our cutting-edge products. Reporting directly to the CTO, this role is responsible for overseeing firmware engineering teams, ensuring product quality, and driving innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee firmware engineering teams to ensure timely and high-quality product releases.
  • Drive innovation in firmware development through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Manage project timelines and budgets, working closely with product management and engineering teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and partners to support firmware integration and testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in firmware development, including leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality firmware solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Experience leading firmware engineering teams and managing projects from concept to launch.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations applicable to firmware development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience with multiple programming languages and tools used in firmware development.
  • Knowledge of hardware design principles and how they impact firmware implementation.
  • Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and software development processes.
