About the role
The Electric Safety Policy Division (ESPD) is seeking a Program and Project Supervisor to develop cutting-edge policy and oversee the implementation of electrical corporations' efforts to reduce utility-ignited wildfires. This position will lead, supervise, and direct the work of staff within the Engineering Branch.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement policies to reduce utility-ignited wildfires
- Assess electrical corporations' Wildfire Mitigation Plans
- Conduct wildfire safety-related policy work
- Lead, supervise, and direct the work of staff within the Engineering Branch
- Travel may be required, including overnight stays
- Work nonstandard hours, including evenings and weekends
- Attend, but not be limited to, trainings, career/job fairs, conferences, meetings, and other activities necessary to perform job duties
Requirements
- Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle
- Travel up to 25% of the time
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, public policy, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in electrical utilities, wildfire mitigation, or related fields
- Experience leading and supervising teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Skills
- Knowledge of wildfire mitigation strategies and practices
- Ability to analyze data and develop effective policies
- Strong project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
