About the role
This is a vacancy for either an Engineer Towboat XH-09 target Chief Engineer Towboat XH-11 in the Maintenance Section located in Peoria, IL.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of towboats
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations
- Coordinate with other departments for logistical support
- Perform routine inspections and troubleshoot mechanical issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in marine engineering
- Valid US Coast Guard Third Mate’s License
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of marine engineering principles and practices
Skills
- Proficient in CAD software
- Experience with vessel automation systems

Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
