About the role
This role is designed for Civil Engineers with 3+ years of experience who are looking to advance their career towards project management.
Responsibilities
- Support the design and delivery of transportation and infrastructure projects
- Learn from experienced Project Managers
- Develop Project Management skills such as: scope development, scheduling, and budgeting
- Perform and review engineering calculations for roadway and transportation projects
- Develop plans, profiles, and design drawings using MicroStation, and related design tools
- Work along with Project Managers in day-to-day project execution and client communication
- Respond to RFIs, review submittals, edit specifications, and contribute to cost estimates
- Conduct site visits, field reviews, and assist with construction-phase services
- Participate in QA/QC reviews to ensure quality and compliance with standards
- Work with Buchart Horn’s Business Development Unit supporting proposal development
- Fast track learning to increase responsibility for project components and coordination
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- EIT certification required
- 3+ years of experience in transportation or civil engineering
- Actively working toward Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
- Proficiency in MicroStation, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of state DOT design standards and AASHTO guidelines
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
