Oncor Electric Delivery Company LLC, headquartered in Dallas, is a regulated electricity transmission and distribution business that uses superior asset management skills to provide reliable electricity delivery to consumers. Oncor operates the largest transmission and distribution system in Texas, delivering power to nearly 4 million homes and businesses and operating more than 145,000 miles of transmission and distribution lines.

About the role

As an Engineer of Distributed Energy Resources and Distributed Generation (DG) Technology at Oncor, you will provide project management oversight and technical leadership for Distributed Energy Resources (DER), Distribution Generation and Energy Storage Resources (DGR/DESR) registered with Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) and seeking interconnection within the Oncor distribution system. This includes serving as the primary point of technical leadership for customers, installers, and energy resource developers submitting new DER, DGR/DESR projects—such as solar, battery energy storage, conventional generators, microgrids, and other emerging technologies—to ensure safe and reliable parallel operations within the Oncor distribution system.

The position provides project management oversight and technical leadership for DER, DGR, and DESR projects throughout the full project life-cycle: prescreening locations, initial application, system impact and detailed technical studies, execution of the interconnection agreement, overseeing scheduled construction, relay testing and commissioning, coordination with ERCOT, and final approval for commercial operation.

The Engineer and Staff Engineer roles generally provide project management oversight of medium-large commercial DER, DGR, and DESR projects using project management and eTRACK+ workflow automation software. The Senior Engineer role supports additional organizational objectives through development and implementation of evolving technical DER interconnection and operating standards, and supporting cross-functional business processes and documentation. The Consulting Engineer role provides oversight and technical supervision of DER, DGR, and DESR projects within and outside the company, representing DG technology on various technical and standards organizations.
