About the role

Performs duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the hospital in good repair. Minor electrical work, mechanical repairs, and other duties relating to maintenance are the primary duties. Operates and maintains stationary mechanical equipment, such as steam boilers, compressors, vacuum pumps, generators, electrical switchboards, and pumps. Manages utilities such as lighting, heating, refrigeration systems, air conditioning, and other support services for the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor electrical work and mechanical repairs to maintain hospital facilities
• Operate and maintain stationary mechanical equipment including steam boilers, compressors, vacuum pumps, generators, electrical switchboards, and pumps
• Maintain utility systems: lighting, heating, refrigeration, air conditioning, and other support services
• Keep the physical structure and associated equipment in good repair

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education/experience
• Appropriate trade, technical, or vocational training
• Journeyman-level experience
• Engineering experience in a healthcare environment (preferred)

Skills

• Journeyman-level knowledge of boilers, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and all mechanical equipment
• Knowledge of Medical Center Safety Policy and Procedures
• Ability to work well with others
• Accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to organize and prioritize work

Schedule

• Shift: Nights
• Full-time (40 hours per week)
• 8-hour shifts
• Variable days of the week
• Weekend requirements: Saturday and Sunday

Pay

$73.25 per hour
