About the role

Lead, direct, and oversee the activities, priorities, and performance of the engineering department. Develop, implement, and maintain engineering policies, standards, procedures, and best practices that support business objectives and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain engineering policies, standards, procedures, and best practices that support business objectives and regulatory compliance.
  • Design tooling, develop processes and create work instructions based on Original Equipment Manufacturer Technical data and parameters identified in the setup of operations for the manufacturing process.
  • Work to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of the outputs of the manufacturing processes.
  • Lead, direct, and oversee the activities, priorities, and performance of the engineering department.
  • Manage engineering resources and projects to ensure technical excellence, quality, budget adherence, and on-time delivery.
  • Assign, coordinate, and review engineering work related to repair, overhaul, manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with customers, internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to define requirements, communicate technical solutions, and achieve project objectives.
  • Maintain and improve engineering processes, technologies, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and career development opportunities for engineering team members.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating engineering processes, technologies, and methodologies to improve business performance.
  • Monitor project and operational performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Partners with leadership teams to develop and execute strategic plans, budgets, goals, and organizational initiatives that support StandardAero's growth and long-term success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, MRO, or related industrial environment.
  • 3 years of experience leading, supervising, or managing technical or engineering personnel.
  • 3 years of experience managing engineering projects and/or process improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering, manufacturing, or production management systems.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, MRO, or related industrial environment. 3 years of experience leading, supervising, or managing technical or engineering personnel 3 years of experience managing engineering projects and/or process improvement initiatives. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering, manufacturing, or production management systems.
  • Desired Skills: Degree concentration or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering. Professional registration, certification, or licensing, if required by applicable regulations. Experience in aerospace, aviation, gas turbine engines, or MRO environments. Working knowledge of gas turbine engine theory, performance, repair, or overhaul processes. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines. Strong project management, planning, budgeting, and risk management skills. Customer-focused with strong business acumen. Proven ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing teams.
