Engineer – Software

Our engineering and product innovation help keep soldiers and firefighters safe, is critical in building and keeping communities clean and helps people do their jobs every day. The Engineer – Software team member will support the implementation and test of high-quality vehicle control software. The team member must be able to write embedded C/C++, Matlab autogenerated software to run on embedded platforms that controls various vehicle systems through network messaging and directly connected inputs and outputs.
Responsibilities
- Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh, as well as general industry, engineering standards and processes.
- Support senior engineers in the preparation of basic plans, designs, computation methods, and/or reporting.
- Under close supervision, work on projects of limited complexity in a support role.
- Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.
- Ability to write high-quality, maintainable, C/C++, Matlab autogenerated software.
- Participate in peer reviews, estimation, and other engineering activities.
- Follow defined CMMI level 3 procedures in the writing of software.
