About the Role

We are currently seeking an Engineer/Scientist for our Metallurgical & Corrosion Engineering Practice in our Menlo Park, CA office. In this role, you will work as part of a team to conduct hands-on failure analysis, field inspections, electrochemical and other laboratory testing, as well as work with clients to evaluate corrosion control and integrity management measures. Your long-term goal will be to develop business and bring new clients to the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting hands-on failure analysis
  • Planning and executing laboratory tests
  • Conducting field inspections
  • Working with clients to develop, evaluate, and improve their corrosion control and integrity management programs
  • Communicating effectively with other engineers, technicians, managers, clients, and administrative staff

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Corrosion, or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within project teams with a strong desire to contribute
  • Specialized knowledge of materials characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, FIB, TEM, EDS, XPS, Auger, SIMS, FTIR, acoustic microscopy, X-ray)

Pay

The base salary range for this position is USD $140,000.00 - USD $157,000.00 per year, dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process. At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus, and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.
