About the Role

Performs advanced regulatory and technical problem-solving to support nuclear plant operations, making key regulatory and technical decisions. Possesses deep expertise in functional disciplines and industry codes/regulations, with a strong understanding of organizations like the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Institute of Nuclear Power Operators (INPO), and Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI).

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced regulatory and technical tasks, providing insights for nuclear plant operations.
• Conduct independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses for regulatory and technical projects.
• Develop, manage, and implement regulatory activities to ensure plant safety, reliability, and compliance with customer needs, regulations, and corporate policies.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work, maintaining proper licensing basis and adherence to design criteria, practices, procedures, and codes.
• Provide regulatory and technical expertise to identify and resolve issues.
• Manage regulatory issues from initiation to resolution.
• Recommend new concepts and techniques to improve performance, reduce costs, simplify operations, or comply with regulatory changes.
• Support resolution of regulatory issues tied to plant design modifications, testing, and problem-solving.
• Ensure all regulatory products comply with procedures, licensing basis, industry codes, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including emergency response, department coverage, and outage support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical degree.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience with exceptional performance (e.g., rated in the upper quartile for the last 2 years).
• Superior regulatory or technical expertise in a specific area (e.g., licensing actions, reportability, performance improvement).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Approval of VP Licensing & Regulatory Affairs required for this classification.
• Maintain minimum access or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, with favorable medical examination/testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license or certification.
• Advanced technical degree or related coursework.
